This is a 3-level program which is designed for the corporate personnel who use the English Language at work. The program comprise Business English Communication Skills – Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3” (BECS 1,BECS 2, and BECS 3). Emphasis will be on the speaking and writing skill, a critical production skill that reflects correct English usage in workplace correspondence.

The main objective of this program is to expose participants to basic to intermediate level of conversational and writing skills  in the areas of  correct pronunciation and grammatically correct speech and writing practice in English.

There will be an oral assessment and a writing assessment to check the current level of English proficiency of the target group of employees so that they can be placed in the appropriate level. The oral assessment will cover criteria like Pronunciation, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Grammar. The written assessment will cover Grammar, Sentence Construction and Writing. Progressive checkpoints will be conducted during the course and a post course assessment to determine their level of improvement.

Each participant will receive a certificate, provided they have attended at least 80% of the course and have completed the required number of assessed tasks during the course.

The speaking units will give participants practice in the kinds of speaking that are essential to business:

  • meetings
  • making appointments
  • presentations
  • negotiations
  • make proposals
  • make recommendations

The writing units will give participants practice in the kinds of writing that are essential to business:

  • emails
  • memos
  • short reports
  • formal correspondence
  • minutes of meetings

COURSE STRUCTURE AND DURATION

The BECS course is conducted over 3 modules. Each module comprises 30 hours of learning time and will be completed in 1 month or less, depending on client’s preferred schedules.
