This course opens up opportunities for not just role play but also conversational practice with a cross-cultural focus.
Conversations are spontaneous communication between two or more people who follow the rules of etiquette. They are interactive and require response reactions. Conversations also call for spontaneity with appropriate words as they may proceed unpredictably. Conversations are sometimes the ideal form of communication when, for example, each party desires a relatively equal exchange of information, or when one party desires to question the other. Successful conversations can sometimes lead two people to reach an agreement.
Social Conversational English will expose participants to role-plays that can serve as a basis for conversation practice, often with a cross-cultural focus. It will also have many structured and communicative activities for listening, speaking and pronunciation practice.
Participants will learn new but common English expressions through the task-based and eclectic approach. These expressions will be introduced using role-plays for participants to see them in context. Then they will practise the expressions in short dialogues within the appropriate context. At the end of each session, participants will take turns to do impromptu conversations together with the new expressions learned.

Course Structure and Outline
The Social Conversational English course is conducted over 3 modules. Each module will take approximately 1 month to complete, depending on client’s preferred schedules.
